Western Downs AlliancePeoples Blockade- Day 51/Lock the Gate Festival
It has been an inspirational weekend!
This morning about 30 protestors braved the cold and headed over to Wieambilla Rd and proceeded to hold up QGC’s work for about 2 and a half hours before QGC called in Barry-the letter reader.
Our festival has come to an end, with everyone packing up and heading home.
The weather has turned rather gloomy and wet. Just in time to hold up QGC operations again!
QGC stated it would take them 14-21 days to connect the pipes into the few wells around Robbo’s Rd and Mary Rd,
we are now up to Day 51 and they have still not completed the work!!!
BASECAMP is fully operational, with many supporters choosing to return there after the festival.
A big thankyou to everyone who attended the festival, and our organisers for all their hard work.

We had a great time at Rock the Gate – it was inspiring – a roller coaster ride from harrowing to depressing to uplifting and joyful recognition of one’s own tribe. I am waiting to return – please run another Rock the Gate soon! Keep the TIDE TURNING….
