Peoples Blockade-Day 15
QGC have bulldozed their way across Wieambilla Road into the residential estates, using the police to keep us at bay.
Again a HUGE police presence throughout the estate.
We discovered one of QGC’s bulldozers sitting on the side of Robbo’s Road on public land, so we proceeded to chain and lock on the lovely Cassie to the bulldozer. This was not without incident though, as one of QGC’s employees got a bit heavy handed with one of our residents, as QGC employees have been known to do. (That makes 3 incidents of assualt at 3 separate actions, and two of those times on the same person, makes you wonder if perhaps he’s a target?)
It appears QGC doesn’t quite grasp the concept of a NON VIOLENT CONFRONTATION!
(Hmmmm………I wonder if this is how land access is negotiated, no wonder no one has been to land court over access agreements, perhaps people are just too intimidated?)
We held QGC at bay for over 2 hours, all the while in discussions with the police negotiators.
Finally Cassie agreed to be removed, no charges were laid, and we proceeded back to BASECAMP to plan the next step of The Peoples Blockade.
A change of location to private property has got the police unable to do anything, as we have permission to be there, and QGC at a stand still yet AGAIN!
WE have a group camping there overnight, so we are prepared for ANYTHING!
Meanwhile morale is really good, lots of great people, and lots of laughs.
Please come on down to BASECAMP (give us a call, or just turn up) so you too can participate in The Peoples Blockade,(still ongoing, for as long as it takes) currently watched from all around the globe.
